About the Ski Exchange

Ski Exchange, ground floor Ski Exchange, display of ski boots Ski Exchange, first floor Ski Exchange, display of skis Ski Exchange, display of skiing accessories

The Ski Exchange got its name when, in 1985, it opened for business as the Ski and Tack Exchange. It started by selling mainly second hand items for skiing and horse riding, both of which represented the interests of the owner and his wife.

Gradually, the winter sports side of the business out grew the equestrian side and it was renamed The Ski Exchange Ltd and concentrated on selling mainly new clothing, equipment and accessories with a decreasing number of “exchanged” items.

In 1995 it came under the control of the present owners, with Simon Elliott assuming the role of Operations Director, responsible for the day to day running of the business.

Today the Ski Exchange Ltd is one of the few remaining independent ski shops in the South East, priding itself in offering impartial and friendly advice on a wide selection of skis and a boot fitting service that is the envy of many larger shops.

In order to assist customers who cannot reach the shop during office hours, Wednesday and Thursday are late opening times during the winter season. Located out of town on an industrial estate at Dry Drayton, a few miles north west of Cambridge, The Ski Exchange Ltd has ample free parking and is close to the A428, the A14 and the M11.
